Pacer Wins Roll-Over Contest!

About eight months ago, I went to a Fourth of July race festival in Tennessee. They had a 100 lap enduro, demolition derby, chain race, and roll-over contest. First of all, some guy from Wisconsin brought a 1980 AMC Pacer Wagon and entered it in the demo derby. Easy to say, it didn't last long, as the tiny Pacer Wagon was squashed between a 1971 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight and a 1985 Chevrolet Impala in the first three minutes. :)

But, then comes the good part. When the roll-over contest came, it looked as though a 1983 Chevrolet Chevette had wrapped up the win with 4 1/2 rolls with only two cars left two go. When the last car rolled out, sure enough, it was a 1977 AMC Pacer painted similar to Garth and Wayne's "Mirthmobile" with the number 77 painted on the top in dark black. Like an old western movie, the Pacer drove up, rolled 6 times, and won the $5,000 first place prize in the roll-over contest!
